Die La-7 war das letzte in einer Reihe leistungsfähiger Jagdflugzeuge, welche noch im Wk 2 eingesetzt wurde. Sie entstand in gerader Linie aus ihren Vorgängern LaGG-3, La-5, La-5FN5. Die noch nachfolgenden Baumuster La-9 und La-11 kamen erst nach Kriegsende zur Truppe. Der Bausatz ist ca. 20 jahre alt. Damals war dies die einzige La 7 in 1/72. Um die Kovozavody Lavochkin La 7 zu verbessern, war folgendes nötig: Das gesamte Cockpit, ausgenommen Instrumentenbrett, wurde mit Selbstbauteilen versehen. Die Paßgenauigkeit war sehr schlecht und ich hatte viel zu korrigieren, besonders den Rumpf-Flügel-Übergang. Die Kanzel habe ich durch eine selbstgezogene ersetzt. Die Bemalung stellt die Maschine von Ivan Koschedub dar, 176. Garderegiment, nach seinem 62. Luftsieg am 19. April 1945. Besondere Abziehbilder machen alles etwas besser. Ohne Pläne und Daten, speziell Detailzeichnungen, konnte ich nicht mehr machen. Von der La-7 gibt es noch ein paralleles Baumuster, das nur etwas stärker bewaffnet war.

The La-7 was the last of a series of powerful fighter-aircrafts, which was still in use in the Great Patriotic War (as WW2 was named in USSR). It arose in direct line of the predecessors LaGG-3, La-5, La-5FN5. The following La-9 and La-11 were not handed over to the VVS before war was over. This kit has an age of nearly 20 years. At that time, this was the only available La 7 in 1/72. To optimize the Kovozavody Lavochkin La 7 following works were necessary: The total cockpit section, except the instrument panel, had to be optimized with scratch parts. The fitting of parts was very bad and had to be corrected, especially the wings/fuselage transition. Canopy was replaced by a self-made vacu. Camouflage is of Ivan Kozhedub, of the 176th Guards Regiment, past scoring his 62nd kill in April, 19th, 1945. Special decals make all a little better. Lack of documents and datas, especially drawings, I could not do more. By the way, there is a parallel category of design of the La-7, which was a little bit heavier armed.
