Die LaGG3 war das erste einer Reihe von Kampflugzeugen, welche solch leistungsfähige Muster wie die La-5, La-5FN5, und zwei Varianten der La-7 hervorbrachte. Der Bausatz bekam diese relativ gute Bewertung, weil Paß- und Maßgenauigkeit sehr gut sind. Das Innenleben war jedoch fast Null. Um die Red Star LaGG 3 zu verbessern, war folgendes nötig: Ich machte Visier und Gurten, fertigte das Instrumentenbrett selbst an, ersetzte die Kanzel durch eine selbstgezogene und die drei MG's durch Röhrchen. Mangels Unterlagen, besonders Detailzeichungen, konnte ich nicht mehr tun. Die Bemalung ging ganz rasch mit Braun und Grün aus der Dose, Hellblau für die Unterseiten. Besondere Abziehbilder machen alles etwas besser.

The LaGG3 was the first of a series of aircrafts which brought powerful derivatives like the La-5, La-5FN, and two variants of the La-7 to life. This kit got it's rather well ranking, because the fitting and measures are very well. But interior was nearly not existing. To optimize the Red Star LaGG 3 following works were necessary: Adding self-made gun-sight and belts, adding instrument-panel, replacing cockpit-hood by self-made vacu and the three guns by tubules. Lack of documents and datas, especially drawings, there was hardly more to do. Camouflage was easy to do, brown and green for the upper, lightblue for the lower sides. Adding special decals makes all a little better.
