Um die DAKo-Plast Jak 9 zu verbessern war folgendes zu tun: Nicht viel ... diese Jak 9 ist eine der besten in 1/72, die ich je in die Finger bekam. Verglichen mit der mehr als 20 Jahre alten Airfix Jak 9, ist das wahrlich ein Roter Stern. Gute Paßform, Abmessungen genau, Abziehbilder dünn. Gerade noch das Übliche - Sitzgurt, Visier, Bremsleitungen, MG und Auspuff aufbohren - war zu machen, mehr nicht. Auch die Kanzel war dünn und klar genug, daß man ins Cockpit sieht. Sogar die Positionslampen sind aus "Glas", so reichte ein kleiner Farbklecks rot und grün in den Flügelspitzen und das "Glas" konnte darübergeklebt werden. Auch die Tarnung war leicht zu machen, Humbrol Farben, sogar ohne Mischen.

To optimize the DAKo-Plast Yak 9 following works were necessary: Not so much ... this kit is one of the best Yak 9 in 1/72 I ever held in my hands. In comparison with the old one of Airfix some 20 years ago, this is a red star indeed. The fitting is fine, the measures are O.K., the decals are really thin. I just had to do the usual works - add the belts, add a gun-sight and the brake-pipes, drill up the exhausts pipes. There was not more to do. Even the canopy is clear and thin enough to take a look inside the cockpit area. Even the position lamps are molded of "glass", so I could draw a small red and green point into the edge of each wing and glue the "glass" above. The camouflage was easy to do, just Humbrol-colors even without mixing.
