 Um die Hasegawa 1/72 Thunderbolt zu verbessern, waren folgende Arbeiten nötig: Folien kleben, Folien kleben, nochmals Folien kleben .... Aber immer schön der Reihe nach. Dies ist tatsächlich der alte Bausatz von Hasegawa, den uns Revell 2002 zu einem wesentlichen günstigeren Preis, und sogar noch etwas aufgebessert, wieder beschert hat. Dennoch, zum Zeitpunkt der Erstauflage von Hasegawa war das der beste Bausatz einer P-47 in 1/72, daher die Bestnote. Es gibt auch gar nichts daran auszusetzen, für 1/72 ist das wirklich spitze und hat die fünf Smilies verdient (siehe auch die P-47D Razorback). Aber da ich anscheinend nicht froh werde, ein Modell so einfach aus der Schachtel heraus zu bauen, habe ich damals (vor vielen Jahren) beschlossen, das Modell mit Alu-Folie zu beplanken. Wer den Artikel über die P-51D schon gelesen hat, weiß was ich zu leiden hatte. Als weitere Verfeinerung zog ich noch eine neue Kanzel und bohrte die MG's auf. Die Kennung, den Totenkopf und den Adler hatte ich noch in der Grabbelkiste, welch ein Glück. Einzig das Gelb der Motorhaube machte große Probleme, da es nicht und nicht trocknen wollte. Den Schriftzug auf der Bombe pinselte ich mit der Hand. Die Invasionsstreifen sind mit dem Luftpinsel enstanden. Ich hab's mir erspart, so wie auf dem bekannten Bild vom Juni 1944, auch noch einen Piloten und einen Flugzeugwart draufzusetzen - das Modell sieht so auch toll aus. |
 To optimize the Hasegawa 1/72 Thunderbolt following works were necessary: To glue metal foils, to glue metal foils and to glue metal foils again and again ... But just step by step. This is really the old kit of Hasegawa, which Revell brought to us in 2002 again, to a much better price, and even a liitle bit better than before. Inspite of it, at the time Hasegawa began delivering this 1/72-kit of a P-47, it was the best at all, therefore the best ranking. There is nothing to worry about, in 1/72 this kit is really top and has truly earned it's ranking with five smilies (watch the P-47D Razorback, too). Obviously not being glad building a kit straight out of the box, I decided (then, many years ago) to apply aluminium-foils instead of paintig this very critical color by airbrush. Who has already seen the report about the P-51D, knows what I had to bear. Further detailing works were the new self-made vacu-canopy and drilling up the guns. The code, the skull and the eagle came out of my spare-box, what a piece of luck. The yellow cowling caused heavy problems, the yellow color did hardly become dry. The bomb's inscription was done by hand-brush. The invasion-stripes were done by airbrush. I saved my time by leaving off a pilot or a member of ground-crew, just as in the widely known photo of June 1944 - the kit makes a rather fine view just without these. |
