 Um die Me P.1101 zu verbessern, waren folgende Arbeiten nötig: Eigentlich nicht viel, hätte ich das Modell aus der Schachtel gebaut. Aber es kam anders. Der Dragon-Bausatz stellt das Projekt 1101 so dar, wie es die Amerikaner nach dem Krieg in den USA herzeigten - mit einem amerikanischen Triebwerk! Und das wollte ich dann doch nicht. Ich hatte aber noch den gleichen Bausatz von HUMA zu Hause liegen, der das Heinkel He S 08 Triebwerk hat. So machte ich mich an den Umbau. Der war aber nicht sehr schwierig. Der Dragon Bausatz ist ausgezeichnet geformt, das Cockpit gut detailliert und die Triebwerksabdeckung liegt in zwei Hälften bei. So gelang es mir, das tolle He S 08 von HUMA im Bauch der Dragon Me P.1101 unterzubringen - und zwar so, daß man es auch offen sehen kann. Das Fahrwerk richtig zu montieren, war nicht so leicht. Die Unterbringung des Ballasts im Bug war auch ein wenig problematisch. Das Original ist auf allen Bildern (in Deutschland 1945) mit einer Stütze am Heck versehen, da es mit leerem Tank nach hinten kippte. Die Bemalung ist Alu über alles, die Hoheitszeichen habe ich mir gespart. Ich kenne nur ein einziges Bild aus jener Zeit, wo die Me P.1101 solche trägt - zu Propagandazwecken? |
 To optimize the Me P.1101 following works were necessary: Not really much, if I had done it out of the box. But it had to become something else. The Dragon-kit brings the Project 1101 in the configuration, the Americans showed it past the war - with an american jet-engine. And this was not, what I wanted to build or to show. I still had the same kit of HUMA, which included the real excellent molded Heinkel He S 08 radial-jet-enginge. So I decided to combine both of them. And this was not so difficult. The Dragon-kit is formed excellently, the cockpit-interior is very fine and the cowling of the jet-engine is added in two single parts. So I succeeded in attaching the fine He S 08 jet-engine in the belly of the Dragon Me P.1101 - in the way, that you can watch this open. Correctly attachment of the landing-gear was difficult. The filling of the nose with enough weight was a little problem, too. The (German) fotos of the aircraft (in 1945) show it all with a support under the rear, caused by the fact, that it sat backwards down when the fuel-tank was empty. Coloring is aluminium over all, I did not attach any codes or signs. I know only one single picture of that time, where the Me P.1101 is shown with them - just for propaganda? |
