 Die "Stuka", also Ju 87 B und Ju 87 D, kennt wohl jeder. Nicht minder bekannt ist auch die Ausführung als "Kanonenvogel", Ju 87 G, mit zwei 3,7 cm BK, welche als "Panzerknacker" an der Ostfront (neben der Henschel Hs 129) berüchtigt war. Um diese Ju 87 zu verbessern, waren folgende Arbeiten nötig: Obwohl es sich um den Top-Bausatz in 1:72 handelte, waren ein paar knifflige Arbeiten zu tätigen. Dies begann schon bei den Steuerstreben für die Klappen und Querruder welche am Bausatz als eine Art Flossen mitgegossen waren. Diese trennte ich ab und ersetzte sie durch Streben aus Kupferlitze. Die nächste Schwierigkeit bereiteten die beiden 3,7cm Kanonen, welche, wenn ich mich recht erinnere, aus meiner Grabbel-Kiste stammen. So gesehen war dies also ein Bausatz einer Ju 87 D, welchen ich umbaute. Die Aufhängung der Kanonen wurde selbst hergestellt, da die Kanonen nicht bündig an der Tragflächenunterseite anlagen. Die Leitungen wurden aus Kupferlitze gemacht, ebenso das Visier des Heckschützen. Die rechte Kanone zeigt im offenen Munitionstreifen eine Patrone, natürlich selbstgemacht. Alle Kühler erhielten zusätzliche Struktur und wurden mit dem Pinsel herausgearbeitet. Die Bemalung erfolgte nach dem üblichen Schema in Grün, Schwarzgrün und Hellblau. Die Kennung für diese spezielle Kommandeursmaschine hatte ich noch herumliegen, die Spirale auf dem Spinner entstand mittels selbstgemachter Schablone und Luftpinsel. Die gelben Kommandeurswinkel und das Rumpfband wurden gespritzt. |
 The so called "Stuka", the Junkers Ju 87 B and Ju 87 D, is well known to everybody. Not less known is the variant with two 3,7 cm cannons, the so called "Kanonenvogel" (cannon-bird), in it's notorious role as a tank-killer (beneath the Henschel Hs 129) at the Eastern Front. To optimize this Ju 87, following works were necessary: Although this then was truly the top-kit in 1:72, there were to do some really tricky things. Let's begin with the actuating rods of the flaps and ailerons; in the kit these were moulded as some kind of fins. I cut them away and replaced them by selfmade acuating rods of copper wire. The next difficulty came in form of the both 3,7cm cannons, which I took out of my spare box, when I can rely on my memory. So this kit is one of a Ju 87 D, which was rebuilt as a G. The mountings of the cannons are scratchbuilt, because the cannons were not fitting precisely to the lower sides of the wings, but there was a small interspace between cannons and wings. The pipes were also self-made by copper-wires, as was the gun-sight of the rear gunner. The right one of the cannons shows one cartridge in the opened ammunition-box, naturally self-made. All radiators got some additional structure and were fine detailed with the brush. The camouflage was done in the usual scheme of black-green, green und light-blue. The codes and other signs of this very special Wingcommander's aircraft were still in my spare-box, the spiral on the spinner was made with a self-made stencil and the airbrush. The Wing-commander's yellow chevrons and the fuselage's yellow belt were also done by airbrush. |
