Über die Iljuschin Il-2, besser bekannt unter dem Namen Schturmowik, brauche ich hier wohl nichts zu erzählen. Das hier ist die einsitzige Variante dieses berühmten Schlachtflugzeuges. Um die Il-2 zu verbessern, waren folgende Arbeiten nötig: Es mußte einiges geschnitten werden. So öffnete ich die Lufthutzen gleich hinter dem Propeller, die Hülsenauswurflöcher und die Bombenschächte in den Tragflächen. Den Bauchkühler habe ich aus dünnem Plastik neu aufgebaut. Die Kanzel habe ich selbst gezogen, die Cockpit-Enrichtung mit selbstgemachten Gurten, Visier und Instrumentenbrett verbessert. Die MG's und Kanonen sind aus Röhrchen gemacht, der Luftfilter in der rechten Tragflächenwurzel und der Landescheinwerfer sind ebenso Eigenbau wie der Lufteinlaß oberhalb des Motors. Da der Bau dieses Modells schon sehr lange zurückliegt, ist die Bemalung noch mit dem Pinsel gemacht. Die Abziehbilder stammen aus der Grabbelkiste. Ich kann nicht mal sagen, ob die Aufschrift Alexander Suworow auf dieser Maschine korrekt ist.

Shall I tell you stories about the Ilyushin Il-2, much better knowm as the Shturmovik? There is no need for it. Here is shown the single-seater variant of this famous attack-aircraft. To optimize the ll-2, following works were necessary: There was to cut pretty much. I did cut out the air-inlets just behind the propeller, the shell- ejection-cutes in the lower wings and the wings' bomb compartments. The ventral radiator is newly made of plates of plastic. I replaced the canopy by a self-made vacu, optimized the cockpit-interior with selfmade harnesses, a gun sight and an instrument panel. The guns and cannons are made of tubules, the air-filter in the right wing-root and the landing-light are scratchbuilt, as is the big air-inlet just above the engine. It is many years since I built this kit, so I made the camouflage with a simple brush. The decals came out of the spare-box. I even cannot tell you, if the inscription Alexander Suvorov is correct on this aircraft.
