Noch kurz vor Beginn des WK 2 waren ca. 2/3 der Italienischen Jagdflugzeuge Fiat CR.32, obwohl sie zu diesem Zeitpunkt schon veraltet waren. Noch 36 davon waren am 10.06.1940, als Italien Großbritannien den Krieg erklärte, in Nordafrika stationiert und im Oktober 1940 waren noch 23 CR. 32 gegen Griechenland im Einsatz. Im weiteren Kriegsverlauf wurden diese alten Doppeldecker nur mehr zur Schulung und zu nächtlichen Stör-Einsätzen verwendet. Der Bausatz von Supermodell hat, trotz des hohen Alters, seine Qualitäten, zumal er ja der einzige in 1:72 ist. Das Gesamtbild ist gut getroffen, für das Instrumente liegt ein Abziehbild bei und die offenen Kühler sind gut getroffen. Ich habe die Verspannung hinzugefügt, die MG-Mündungen und die Venturi-Düse aufgebohrt, sowie die Hilfs-Querruder durch selbstgemachte, dünnere, erstzt. Ausgelenkte Höhenruder belebten das Model zusätzlich. Die Tarnbemalung erfolgte damals, vor ca. 30 jahren, noch mit dem Pinsel. Die Markierungen der Roten Teufel sind nicht authentisch. 2014 hat Italeri den Bausatz neu aufgelegt, einige Verbsserungen einfließen lassen und Foto-Ätzteile beigelegt, welche aus dem kleinen Doppeldecker ein Schmuckstück werden lassen. Vor 1938 war dieses Flugzeug auch im Bestand der damailgen Österreichischen Fliegerkräfte.

Facing the WW 2, apprixomately 2/3 of the Italian fighters were the Fiat Cr. 32, although these aircraft were already antiquated at this moment. About 36 of them were in use in the North of Africa, when Italy declared war on Great Britain on June 10th 1940 and some other 23 numbers of CR. 32 saw servcie against Greece in October 1940. Futher in the WW 2 these antique biplanes were used as trainers and in the role as night-attack-aircrafts. Inspite of it's antiqueness, Supermodel's kit hat it's qualities, espacially as it is the only one in 1:72. The overall view hits the mark, there is a decal added for the instrument panel and the uncovered radiators are very well formed. I added all the tension wires, drilled out the gun nozzles and the venturi-pipe and replaced the kit's ailerons aid's by very thin, selfmade ones, made of simple thin styrene. The deflected elevators additional vitalized the model. When I finished the kit some 30 years ago, i did the camouflage with a simple brush. Markings of Diavoli Rossi are not authentical to this aicraft. Italeri reanimated this rare kit in 2014 with some improvements of the landing-gear, the cockpit-interior and even photo-etched parts, which let become this small biplane a real piece of jewellery. Before 1938 these aircrafts were in the inventory of the regular Austrian Air Forces.
