 Mehr als 9800 Mitchells wurden gebaut und auf allen Kriegsschauplätzen eingesetzt. Sicher unvergessen bleibt Col. Doolittles Husarenstück 1942, die Bombardierungs Tokios von einem Flugzeugträger aus und der Landung in China. Die Mitchell war ein sehr vielseitiges Flugzeug. Sie wurde von der USAAF, der RAF und auch von den Russen geflogen. Letzteres Model habe ich ja schon vorgestellt. Um die Mitchell zu verbessern, waren folgende Arbeiten nötig: Wie bereits bei der russischen Mitchell gesagt, leistete ich mir den Luxus, selbst das Abteil des Bombenschützen ordenlich aufzubauen, da dieses im Bausatz stark vernachlässigt war. Die kleinen Fenster im Rumpf wurden selbst gemacht. Dann öffnete ich noch die Einstiegsklappen, um alles etwas lebendiger zu gestalten. Die Farbgebung war leicht zu bewerkstelligen, einfach Sandfarben oben und Hellgrau unten.  More than 9800 Mitchell's were built and saw service in every theatre of operations. Col. Doolittle's 1942's Tokio Raid, the bombardement of Tokio out of an aircraft-carrier and the landing in China, will be unforgotten. The Mitchell was a real versatile aircraft. It was in use with the USAAF, the RAF and even in Russian V-VS. The latter model was already introduced some months ago. To optimize the Mitchell, following works were necessary: As already told in the report of the Russian Mitchell, I carried out to build the bombardier's compartment, because this was nearly lacking in the original Italeri kit. The small fuselage-windows were replaced by selmade ones. Finally I opened the entry-hatches, what added some life to the whole scene. Doing the camouflage was an easy piece, just desert-pink on the upper and lihgt-grey on the lower sides, this it was.
